We are often approached by pond owners looking to do something more to improve the health and visual appearance of their pond. While there are certainly many directions a pond owner may take toward improving their pond’s water quality a good first move is to improve or create water movement. Simple water movement can create additional dissolved oxygen in the water, discourage algae growth, and speed up organic decomposition. These benefits are great for a pond’s fish assemblage. They also encourage improved water quality stability and will aide in maintaining a beautiful and healthy pond over time.
For many pond owners a pond fountain/surface aerator is the perfect first choice toward achieving the improved health and appearance that is desired. Aquatic Control has been helping customers find the right fountain or surface aerator for their pond for nearly 50 years. We break down the overwhelming amount of fountain options to select the perfect unit for each customer’s unique situation and goal. We start by handling the most reputable fountain brands on the market. Then we size up the fountain according to pond size, make all the necessary measurements, and provide each customer with pattern options that work with their goal. Take the guess work out of selecting the right fountain for you. You paid to live on the water… Start Living!
A fountain or surface aerator operates at the surface level of each pond/lake it is sized for. The goal is to create either aesthetic appeal or to increase pond health. Sometimes both aesthetics and pond health are of a concern in which case a blend of visual appeal and pond health can be achieved. Water movement created by this type of system impacts approximately the top 5 feet of the water column. So these units are best suited for shallow ponds where deep water movement is not needed or in instances where the aesthetic appeal is equal in importance to the health benefits that can be obtained. These units can also be used to create movement in small bays or areas of larger water bodies where natural water movement is less than the water body as a whole.
Aquatic Control can make sure that your fountain/surface aerator is properly assembled. Then we deliver and position it to your liking. Once installed, we check to make sure that the unit is operating according to specification. This service allows you to be completely “hands off” during the purchase and installation process. Even better, you get to enjoy the fountain without the worry of whether or not the installation was completed properly and according to the manufacturer’s recommendations.
