Aquatic Control Inc. is a privately owned lake and pond management company with a main office in Seymour, Indiana and satellite offices in Valparaiso, Indiana; Evansville, Indiana; St. Louis, Missouri; Elizabethtown, Kentucky; Jackson, Tennessee; Knoxville, Kentucky; Williamsville, Illinois; Elkhart, Iowa; and Davenport, Iowa. Our staff consists of fisheries biologists and technicians with a combined 500+ years of experience in aquatic vegetation management, fisheries management, product sales, and aquatic ecosystem management.

We are looking for a skilled Office Assistant to help with the organization and running of the daily administrative operations. In many cases, you will be the first person our customers interact with. This is a crucial part of our business. We are looking for a candidate who understands the importance of excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will be a hard-working professional able to undertake a variety of office support tasks and work diligently under pressure all while maintaining a positive mental attitude and upbeat demeanor. This person will be comfortable working with a high degree of attention to detail and discretion as well as incorporating new and effective ways to achieve better results.

Responsibilities:

  • Organize office and assist associates in ways that optimize procedures
  • Answering & transferring incoming phone calls
  • Sort and distribute communications in a timely manner
  • Accurately answering customer questions by utilizing our CRM system
  • Ability to process payments
  • Solving customer issues by recommending the proper service/product
  • Perform standard receptionist duties
  • Cooperate to complete tasks as part of team spanning multiple regional offices

Requirements:

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Working knowledge of office equipment
  • Working knowledge of computers
  • Thorough understanding of office management procedures

  • Analytical abilities and aptitude in problem-solving
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience operating a Forklift would be a plus!

The Position:

  • EPA registered aquatic herbicide and algaecide application
  • Installation and maintenance of aerators, fountains, and compressed air systems
  • Aquatic plant surveys
  • Assisting with and writing vegetation management plans
  • Fish management surveys
  • Assisting with fish survey reports
  • Data entry and management
  • General maintenance of trucks, boats, equipment, and grounds

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Insurable Driving Record
  • Pass Pre-Employment Drug Screening & DOT Physical
  • Comfortable Driving Truck & Boat Trailer Combination
  • Basic mechanical ability (experience in outboard motor operation is a plus)
  • Ability to work in an outdoor environment (physical labor required)
  • Ability to work an average of 50-60 hours per week
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs

The Position:

  • Primary duty will be the application of EPA registered aquatic herbicides and algaecides
  • Installation and maintenance of aerators, fountains, and compressed air systems
  • Aquatic plant surveys
  • Writing vegetation management plans
  • Performing fish surveys
  • Attend industry related training events and conferences
  • Heavy field work from March through October
  • General maintenance of trucks, boats, equipment, and grounds
  • Speaking at pond clinics, trade shows, and public meetings

  • Bachelor’s degree in fisheries/aquatic science, agriculture, or a natural resources-related field
